Whether you’re juggling crew schedules and pay, tracking qualifications, or managing training, FCMS delivers real-time visibility and automation — so your team can spend less time fixing problems and more time keeping operations running smoothly.
SkedFlex FCMS was designed to solve the problems that operators face every day.
From last-minute schedule changes to crew legality checks, FCMS brings flight planning, crew scheduling, training, and compliance into one intuitive, cloud-based platform.
No more flipping between PDFs, spreadsheets, or emails to figure out who’s available, qualified, and legal. FCMS provides real-time insight into crew status, rest, duty limits, and aircraft readiness — with automated alerts before issues arise. With built-in change tracking and centralized trip data, your team stays aligned even when the plan changes.
Complex pay rules? Covered. FCMS automates pay calculations using your contractual terms, reducing errors and freeing your staff from manual reconciliation. Training is fully integrated too — so you can schedule sessions based on live availability without disrupting flight ops or chasing down incomplete records.
With SkedFlex FCMS, you can:
SkedFlex FCMS is more than software — it’s the operational clarity and control your team deserves.
The core SkedFlex FCMS system simplifies flight and crew management with real-time aircraft tracking, automated OOOI, qualification monitoring, and a powerful rules engine — all in one integrated platform. These capabilities are extended even further with optional modules for training, payroll, planning, and more.
Graphical display for flight, duty, and rest limits for US-based air operations under 14 CFR and under Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) for Canadian-based operators.
Aircraft Tracking with Gantt view for all flight details. Choose from one to seven days in a single view.
The Rules Engine provides a detailed and readily accessible account of required Government Aviation Regulations for any supported country. Company specific rules can also be added and tracked.
Training and proficiency for crewmembers, dispatchers, maintenance personnel, and any other employee group is a core capability in FCMS. Qualification grouping into Master Quals ensures all required training and currency for members are maintained. Qual completion events are scheduled via drag/drop and signed off with document upload and electronic signature.
See every flight, including passenger counts, cargo, fuel, times, etc. Equipped with movement message interface to external systems to transmit all aircraft movements in real-time.
Includes flight, shift, duty period, trip & resource templates. Smart templates for quick creation and assignment of routine resources, shifts, charters, and ad-hoc flights.
PBS allows the crew to bid on trips and set schedule criteria in the crew scheduling software, so schedulers can use this information to build entire bid lines.
Use named flight sequence routes that operate within a specified date range and on specific days for use in crew scheduling.
OUT, OFF, ON and IN (OOOI) times sent from ACARS or satellite-equipped aircraft can be integrated with FCMS to allow OOOI times to be automatically captured, greatly reducing data entry errors.
Import flight schedules using the standard SSIM (Standard Schedules Information Manual from IATA) format to quickly populate monthly schedules with flight segments.
Crew Pay ensures pay accuracy and accountability, freeing employees and administrators to focus on productivity, not paperwork. Exporting pay data is easy—virtually any external system is supported for payroll processing.
In addition to managing the crewmember currency and qualification values, the QTMS crew training management module provides the capability to manage all individual training items and events leading to the completion of the required qualification(s); record training from an offline mobile device during the instructional event; and subsequently upload all data to SkedFlex FCMS. Classrooms and simulator slots are also scheduled in QTMS and those resources are tied to trainer and trainee schedules automatically.
The SkedFlex Fleet Management module provides aircraft schedulers and maintenance personnel comprehensive tools to create and manage aircraft fleet schedules. Scheduled inspections can be entered manually or created via an integration with your Maintenance system and burn-down to the inspections is easily viewed in calendar format. Additionally, What-If scenarios can help manage the flight schedule in relation to upcoming maintenance events.
Line Bidding allows crew schedulers to build lines for crew bidding and allows crew members to bid online or establish a standing bid which can be modified as needed. This helps improve morale and efficiency in aviation workforce management.
Vacation Management provides administrators a method of configuring vacation availability for any length of time to be bid on by their crews during pre-determined time frames. Vacation will automatically accrue over time and can be tracked easily using Vacation Management. Crew members can both bid or rebid on vacation in seniority order, and trade vacation on a first-come first-served basis, pending vacation availability.
Trip Trading module empowers crew members through a powerful set of tools. Crews can drop, swap, or pick up trips and shifts, use a trade board to post and browse available trades, and leverage automated rules and holds to streamline approvals. Support for trade groups, partial trades, and filters by domicile, fleet, or seat ensures that all trades stay compliant and efficient—making schedule management easier for both crews and administrators.
The SkedFlex Mobile App for iOS and Android gives crew members real-time access to everything they need — even offline. From checking schedules, duty, and trip details to reviewing crew pay, qualifications, and training, the app keeps your team informed and connected. It also supports complete flight logs, dispatch briefings, and seamless trip trading — all from the palm of your hand.
FCMS supports all US FAR’s and Canadian CAR’s. In addition, company and union rules beyond the standard FAR’s and CAR’s can be configured. All rules, including training qualifications, are validated in real time without user intervention. Warnings and violations can be seen visually with a color indication on flight pucks, crew pairings, crew schedules, and reports.
The two core Gantt displays, the Crew Schedule Page (CSP) for crew tracking and open time information managed with drag and drop functionality, and the Daily Schedule Page (DSP) for flight following, provide an easy-to-use graphical view of where crew and aircraft are in real time. Either display can be used to keep track of reserves, add or remove a crew from a flight, and manage flight status. Any action taken on one of the pages is automatically reflected on the other.
SkedFlex FCMS provides tools for importing schedules and templates for creating them. Templates also allow users to activate flights for specific date ranges. The Daily Schedule Page (DSP) is used to manually add ad hoc flights.
FCMS has a real-time integration to the FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD). An integration status dashboard is accessible from the primary FCMS display, enabling the airline to monitor the status of data transmitted to the PRD.
Two bidding modules are available: PBS and Line Bidding. Both systems support criteria-based trip and line bidding for any crewmember, as well as other employee groups within your company who may bid on work schedules, such as dispatchers, crew schedulers, loadmasters, mechanics, and more.
The Trip Trade module allows for multiple methods of trading based on the rules configured by the airline. Full trips, partial trips, schedule codes and/or shifts can be traded. All legalities are validated before submitting a trade request and again at the time of the trade. Based on the airline rule setup, trades can be configured to automatically process or be held for manual approval.
The FCMS Vacation Bidding module manages the entire process—from tracking vacation time accrual to conducting yearly bid awards and facilitating ongoing open vacation trades. Through the crew portal, crewmembers can bid directly without the need for paper forms or emails to crew planning. Crewmembers are notified of bidding open and close periods and receive email confirmations of their awarded vacations.
FCMS offers more than 50 reports and dashboards to help track operations, statistics, and resource availability and utilization. In addition to these standard reports, the BI Views module enables operators to analyze their data and create custom reports tailored to their needs.
